22-formula for AP capital development

Vijayawada, October 20 : The AP government has prepared strategies to implement 22-formula scheme for the State capital development. This would be accepted in the Chief Minister s meeting slated on October 26.Drinking water, power, UGD and other issues were included in the list. The scheme would be implemented in three phases - first phase by 2019, second phase by 2035 and third phase by 2050.The 35-year implementation plan and funds were discussed at Wednesday review meeting. The expenditure was estimated at about Rs. 43,000 crores for 10 years. It was decided to provide basic facilities with Rs 32,500 crores within the next four years and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested the officials to consult international organizations that will give loans for lowest interest. As part of provision of basic facilities, Rs. 4,967 crore for roads; Rs. 750 crore for drinking water and drainage systems, Rs. 3,287 crore for power supply, Rs. 250 crore for developing gardens, Rs. 1,000 crores for flood relief and Rs. 519 crore will be spent for basic facilities in capital villages. The officials informed the CM that the total funds of Rs. 32,500 crores for the four years would be collected through nine means. The State government will bear 30 per cent of the funds. Special focus is laid to launch 21 projects in five wings before 2018. The Chief Minister suggested the officials to provide facilities like 24-hour power supply, roads interlinking, drinking water supply, drainage canals, disbursal of garbage etc in the capital city.
