India once again recorded the highest single day spike

In the last 24 hours, India once again recorded the highest single day spike of almost 50,000 fresh cases, taking the total tally to 12,87,945. The death toll is also very close to crossing the 30,000 mark

With 49,310 fresh Coronavirus cases and 740 fresh deaths, the overall death toll reached 30,601.

However, the recovery rate stood at 63.45 per cent with as many as 8,17,209 cured, which is almost twice the number of active patients, which is at 4,40,135.

The worst hit states remain Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, which have contributed the maximum number of cases.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the world has gone beyond the 15.4 million mark, while the deaths have increased to over 6,31,000.
