AstraZeneca first in the vaccine race, results to be out soon

The entire world is busy trying to come up with a vaccine for Coronavirus, thereby putting an end to this global pandemic that has claimed numerous lives, and still continues to do so.


Nearly 120 countries are researching on a potential vaccine for the virus, and all of these vaccines are in various stages of development.

AstraZeneca's vaccine, being developed by researchers at Oxford University is the first vaccine in the world to enter the final phases of its testing. The World Health Organization has said that this is the leading vaccine candidate in the world right now.

WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan has said that considering the stage at which the vaccine is , and how developed it is, the final results of the vaccine can be expected very soon.

She also said that Moderna's vaccine is also not far behind, and will enter phase three of its clinical trials by mid July. With that, the final results of Moderna’s vaccine can be expected to closely follow that of AstraZeneca's.
