AP High court cancels 'English medium' GO

As per latest reports, the high court of Andhra Pradesh has cancelled GO 81, and 85 that were passed by the state government in order to convert all the government schools to English medium institutions.

The state government had passed these GOs intending to convert all the government-run schools to English medium institutions from this academic year, but that won't be the case now.

The high court stated that children and their parents will decided which medium they will study in. The court cited this as the reason behind the cancellation of the two GOs that were passed by the state government.

The opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh, Telugu Desam, and Janasena had opposed the state government's decision to develop English medium schools. It remains to be seen how the government will react to the court's verdict.
