Indian Bank has taken a big decision keeping in mind the convenience of customers. From March 1, 2020, the bank is going to make a major change related to 2000 rupee note. Soon, customers will not get Rs 2,000 notes in ATM. Indian Bank has decided that it will not put 2,000 rupee notes in its ATMs. For this, the bank has given information to all its branches.

The bank had issued a circular on 17 February 2020 itself. In this context, the Indian Bank has said that after withdrawing a Rs 2,000 note, customers have difficulty in exchanging it at retail outlets and elsewhere. According to the bank's circular, after 1 March 2020, cassettes holding Rs 2,000 notes in Indian Bank ATMs will be disabled. It is clear that it will not be available. Simultaneously, the bank has told that the number of cassettes of 200 rupee notes will be increased in ATM machines for customers. Rs 2,000 notes will be available in the bank branch. While withdrawing money from the bank, customers can be given Rs 2,000 notes. The bank has clearly stated that customers are coming to the branch to exchange Rs 2,000 notes.

Keep in mind that this decision has been taken only by Indian Bank. Apart from Indian Bank, no government or private bank has decided to close 2,000 rupee notes in ATMs. In this regard, V Balasubramanian, president of Financial Software and Systems, the company that manages the ATM services of the country's banks, was quoted as saying that he had not been given any information in this regard. This decision of the Indian Bank has been taken keeping in mind the facilities of the customers only. A message is going viral on social media and YouTube, in which the Reserve Bank of India is going to close the two thousand rupee note soon. Later the RBI issued a rebuttal in this regard but the central bank issued a statement saying that these are all rumors. The bank has not issued any notification about this.
