Worlds eighth largest automaker Kia has big plans for Anantapur

KIA Motors, the world's eighth largest automaker, with its first ever plant in India located in Andhra Pradesh at Erramanchi in Anantapur district, succeeded in producing cars within a short period.

The 536-acre barren lands of Erramanchi in Penukonda mandal on National Highway 44 close to the Bengaluru international airport was shaped into a 'Korean City' in two years.

The unit had invested Rs 13,000 crore and was producing Seltos cars with diesel and petrol versions for the Indian market since December last.

The unit, which occupies 536 acres, is capable of an annual production capacity of up to 300,000 units, boosting KIA's global manufacturing capability along with creating over 3,000 direct and 7,000 indirect jobs.

A US 2 billion dollars investment by KIA and its vendor partners ensures availability of world-standard technologies and development of high-quality local manufacturing skills.
