KCR Wants Rs.12,000 Crores

Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao has requested the finance commission to allot an additional Rs. 12,000 crores to the state.

KCR said that this money would be required to complete Kaleshwaram Project and Mission Bhageeratha. Finance Minister Harish Rao said that the additional money is required as the state government wants to supply water to every household.

The Telangana CM submitted a two-page letter to the finance commission about this. In the letter, KCR said that multi-stage lift irrigation schemes are required. This is because the rivers Krishna and Godavari flow deep below ground level. KCR also said that this was crucial since every other state had lauded Mission Bhageeratha, including Finance Commission Chairman N.K. Singh.

Harish Rao also stated that when they requested the Finance Commission to hold its regional conference in Hyderabad, Singh agreed immediately.
