Braking News: Salman Khan Convicted in Blackbuck Case

Mumbai, Apr 05: A trial court in Jodhpur, on Thursday, 5 April, convicted Salman Khan in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. His co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam have been acquitted. Salman Khan is now facing jail term of up to six years.

Jodhpur Court judge reportedly said that Salman Khan is a "habitual offender."

Salman Khan’s lawyer is arguing for a lesser quantum of punishment, He has been convicted under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972.

Salman was accused of killing two black bucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur on the intervening night of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain.
