New Delhi Mar 5: In a Major development Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday has told the Supreme Court has that Major Aditya Kumar's name was not mentioned in the FIR filed against Army personnel involved in the Shopian firing.

The state government has filed its status report in the case filed by Lt Col (retd) Karamveer Singh's petition seeking to quash the FIR against his son Major Aditya. The Supreme court has told the government to stop all the investigations in the Army personnel involved in the Shopian firing.

The Court had fixed next date of hearing April 24. The Jammu and Kashmir's Government status report assumes significance because earlier there were reports that Cheif Minister has announced
in the assembly that it had filed an FIR by seeking permission from the defense minister Nirmala Sitaraman.

Many parties have expressed their concern against the FIR filed against Army and said that this move would demoralize the army.
