Keerthy suresh about Mahanati

Hyderabad, Feb 06: The Tollywood upcoming drama 'Mahanati', the biopic on the legendary actor Savitri, has been gathering steam ever since it was announced last year. Keerthy Suresh, who plays the lead role, has been in limelight since.

Apart from Keerthi, Mahanati has other stars like Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan, who married Savitri, Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao, Vijay Devarakonda, Shalini Pandey, Krish, Malavika Nair and Prakash Raj.

Recently in an interview, Keerthy Suresh opened up about Mahanati and said, "The story will be narrated from Samantha Akkineni's perspective and she will be seen playing a journalist."

She further said, " When the director Nag Ashwin narrated the storyline to me, I was shocked because it was too early in my career to play such a fascinating role. There is so much more to Savitri than what the people know. I am very happy as I got the opportunity to essay the role of Savitri on screen. I have about 120 costumes in the film. The average number of costumes for an actress in a film is about 30."

A leading actor, who worked in all the four south Indian languages, Savitri married Gemini Ganesan. She had two children with him, but died of substance abuse at the age of 47.
