Justice J Chelameswar orders to list a case to other bench

New Delhi Nov 15: In an unexpected move a Justice has decided not to hear a case and he has ordered the case to be shifted to another bench where his name is not listed.

Justice J Chelameswar has recused from hearing the case relating to the allocation of judges between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

He has passed an order that "List the matters before the Bench of which one of us (Mr. Justice J. Chelameswar) is not a member."

His order has shocked everyone because he heard the matter for a very long time and everyone expected that an order would soon be issued.

The case pertains to a petition filed by Telangana Lawyers association regarding the guidelines framed by the Andhra Pradesh High court to allocate the subordinate judiciary in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state.

Telangana lawyers objected the guidelines issued by the High court and said that only supreme court or central government has right to bifurcate the lower judiciary of the states.
