Undisclosed income of Rs 71,941 cr found in 3 years

New Delhi, July 24: The government has informed the Supreme Court that unaccounted income of Rs. 71416 crores have been disclosed in the last three years carried out by the Income Tax department.

According to the affidavit submitted by the Finance Ministry, the unaccounted income of Rs. 5400 crores have been disclosed and 10.33 crores worth of gold has been seized from 9th November till last year.

During the period from 1st April 2014 to 28th February 2017, 2027 teams of the Income Tax Department have disclosed the unaccounted income of 36051 crores during this period.

Besides, unaccounted assets worth Rs. 2890 crores were seized. According to the data collected by the Income Tax department from 15th April 2014 to 28th February 2017, the unaccounted income of 33 thousand crores has been revealed.

The performance of the government in the time of despatch has been mentioned in it. Accordingly, a total amount of Rs 610 crore was seized, in which Rs 513 crore was cash.

This includes Rs 110 crore in the new currency. During this period, the total disproportionate income of Rs. 5400 crores have been exposed. The Finance Ministry had refused to extend the extension of 500 rupees and thousands of old notes. On July 11, the Home Department had based on information given by the intelligence agencies that it was being abused due to the extension of the note. An amount of Rs 147.9 crores was seized between November and December 2016.
