Sanjay Dutt released early for?

Mumbai, July 18: Maharashtra government defended Sanjay Dutt's eight months in jail in a 1993 Mumbai blast case. On Monday, the Bombay High Court reported that the decision was taken and no special case was made for him.

In 2007, Sanjay was sentenced to six years by the Tada court for contrary to the provisions of some of the weapons used in the explosives. The Supreme Court upheld the sentence in 2013.

The sentence was reduced to five years. In May of that year, he surrendered. Sanjay spent 18 months in jail for the trial of the case and the trial was over.

On February 25, 2016, the government released him on the eve of the sentence period of eight months after Sanjay's good conduct in Pune's Yerawada jail.

The government gave a report to the bench comprising Justice RM Savant and Justice Sadhana Jadhav, in view of his good conduct, disciplining, participating in physical training, educational programs, and handing over punishment.

In response to a public lawsuit filed against Sanjay's paroles, challenging the reduction of punishment. The bench examined the report postponed the next hearing on the case for two weeks.
