Heavy rains in Hyderabad

Hyderabad June 08: Heavy rains hit Hyderabad early this morning and the roads have been flooded with water. People started enjoying the cool weather as it is a relief for many from the scorching sun's heat that roasted during May.

As per reports from the Indian Meteorological Department, the rains are to be hit in all districts of Telangana from June 8th to June 10th which might expand to north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

Rainfall and thunderstorms hit places like Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Ameerpet, Dilsukh Nagar, LB Nagar, Punjagutta, Secunderabad, Abids and Uppal.

Roads in the city have been inundated with rain waters in turn affecting the traffic. The power supply in many places was down and the public is facing a lot of inconvenience due to the rainfall which is likely to continue until Friday.

An IMD official said, "This would enhance the rain over both the Telugu-speaking states. Under the trough’s influence, there would be a few moderate to heavy showers over the capital city." Another private weather forecasting company Skymet also opined, "Under its influence, there are chances of heavy rains in the city over the next 48 hours".
