Baahubali break the records in UAE

Hyderabad May 18: Prior to its release, Baahubali 2 had set up an enviable record in UAE by beating the advance booking record set by Hollywood biggie, 'Fast and Furious 8'. Now, the Indian film has shattered another record in the Gulf region.

By minting $10 million in just seventeen days, Baahubali 2 has become the first ever Indian film to achieve this feat in UAE. Earlier, Salman Khan's 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' was the highest grosser in UAE with a lifetime collections of $9.5 million.

'Baahubali 2' has also become the first Indian movie to collect USD40 million in overseas if we exclude the collections from China. Aamir's Dangal and 'PK' have collected more than 'Baahubali 2' in overseas but major share for those movies came from China.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan's 'Dangal' has set up a unique record by becoming the first Indian film to collect USD100 million in overseas. Major credit must be given to China where the movie has been performing exceptionally well. Even the Hollywood biggie - 'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' couldn't match the momentum of 'Dangal' and limited itself to 2nd position in China.
