Kamal Hasan about Baahubali

Chennai May 13: Everyone from all the industry is parsing the Rajamouli's Baahubali, now Universal Hero Kamal Hasan also joined in the list. The actor who's shooting for Tamil TV reality show in Chennai, took out his time to speak with a popular daily wherein he further posed an interesting query. Read on...

Quickly after saying that "Baahubali is the best thing that could've happened to the film industry, financially speaking. They've worked for it," the actor raised doubts over how the historical stories are being made in modern-day.

In Kamal's words- "It (Baahubali) also proves that we have a great culture and also the best stories here. But, then they say we have 2000 years of culture. There, I'd like to intervene. We are not 2000 years old, we're 70. Don't hark on Chandragupta Maurya or Ashoka; they are not my forefathers. They are so far back in the past that we cannot emulate or interpret (their stories) in modern life. But we are trying to - we are grappling between the past and the present, slipping and slithering."

Interestingly, the Vishwaroopam actor was working on a Tamil period drama titled Marudhanayagam, who was put on hold due to financial issues. The actor said that it would soon be revived and released. In the meanwhile, the second installment in Vishwaroopam franchise will see its light later this year.

Known for speaking his heart out, Kamal Haasan's tweets & statements are always surrounded with controversy.
