State bifurcation dividing families also

Hyderabad, September 29: The State bifurcation is dividing families also, just like it divided the state. Section officers, assistant section officers have to leave their families. There are about 70 families in Hyderabad where the husband is a Central government employee and the wife works in AP secretariat.

The AP government ordered to be in Velagapudi by October 3 while the TS government clarified they wouldn't take AP staff. The employees are in dilemma as they have to lose either family or job.

In fact, the transfers are a headache to the families with husband and wife working with central and state governments. BHEL, DRDL and other such central government offices are located only in Hyderabad and nowhere in Andhra Pradesh.

LIC, postal, bank and other central government employees can request for transfer but for DRDL or BHEL staff, it is either Hyderabad or Delhi, there is no other choice for them. Several employees requested Kamalanathan to solve their problem, who said he couldn't do anything without any mention in the law.

Requests to chief secretaries of AP and Telangana governments also failed to get any results. After State bifurcation, a few AP employees in Telangana and Telangana employees in AP are still working. Trials are going to get the TS staff back to their own State.

There are 143 vacant posts in Telangana. The draft file on this is under purview of Principal Secretary Ramakrishna Rao. It will take at least two months for finalization. There is a need for the TS government to make guidelines giving exemption to spouse cases.

Or else the AP government should discuss the problem with its counterpart. About 101 employees requested the AP government for exemption under health problems, which are pending.
