Survey about Brahman Families in Telangana

Hyderabad, February 16: Inorder to find out the accuracy in Telangana brahmin family, Brahmana Parishad resolved to take up a comprehensive survey to learn about the number of Brahmin families in Telangana area.Telangana Brahmin Samkshema Parishad resolved that a number of welfare programs should be taken up for Brahmins including the extension of Kalyan Laxmi and Aasara pensions. The first general body meeting of the Parishad was held here on Wednesday and it was attended by Parishad s chairman KV Ramana Chary, vice-chairman Vanam Jwala Narasimha Rao among other members.The slew of welfare measures planned for the Brahmins in the meeting including sanction of money for marriage of poor Brahmin girls on the lines of Kalyan Laxmi and extending Asara pension scheme to them. The Parishad resolved to take up a comprehensive survey to learn about the number of Brahmin families in Telangana as there is no authentic data for formulating schemes for them.The Parishad will conduct a meeting on February 26 with welfare and Seva organizations to solicit their views on the welfare measures. The meeting decided to sanction 10 crores to take up the construction of Brahmin Sadan in Gopanpally, where the State government allotted land for the same. A committee was also constituted for monitoring the progress of the construction of Brahmin Sadan.
