Ashok Gehlot appointed as Rajasthan CM

New Delhi, December 14: After several hours of deliberations and meetings, Congress Party chief Rahul Gandhi on Friday re-appointed Ashok Gehlot as Rajasthan Chief Minister and appointed state unit chief Sachin Pilot as deputy chief minister.

We all knew that, Gehlot had served as CM on two occasions, from 1998 to 2003 and again from 2008 to 2013. The announcement was made by the state’s party observer K C Venugopal here on Today.



According to the sources infomation, The two contenders for the CM’s post held several rounds of discussions with the party high command amid a clear tussle between the old and the young guard. Sources had earlier told media that Pilot had told Gandhi that he had worked very hard in the last five years and justice should, therefore, be done.

Meanwhile, the contenders for the top job in Chhattisgarh — T S Singh Deo, Bhupesh Baghel, Tamradhwaj Sahu and Charan Das Mahant — left for the national capital for talks today. In Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Nath was declared as the Chief Minister late on Thursday night; he will take oath on December 17.
