Kerala, April 01: Christians in Kerala today celebrated Easter, the day of resurrection of Jesus Christ after the crucifixion, with religious fervor and traditional enthusiasm. The people attended the Easter mass where they drank wine and ate a slice of cake marking the end of Lent.A traditional Easter breakfast was prepared in Christian households which has dishes like appam , chicken stew, beef roast, duck curry, steamed bananas, egg curry and cake.According to reports, liquor sales peak in Kerala during this period.Governor Justice (Rtd) P Sathasivam, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Ramesh Chennithala greeted Keralites on the occasion.
