Hyderabad, Oct 31: The High Court at Hyderabad on Monday expressed displeasure over some B.Tech students seeking to complete their courses without attending the college. The High court has expressed that there would be no use of completing the degree by studying at home and rejected the plea to direct the university to allow the petitioner students to sit for examination even though they do not possess requisite attendance. The division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Abhinand Kumar Shavili have made the above remarks during the hearing a writ appeal filed by Registrar of JNTU against the single judge order directing the university to allow the students with less attention to sit for examinations. The university officials have informed the High Court that as per rules, the students must have 75 percent attendance to be eligible for writing examinations and those below that are not allowed to write examinations. He said there are many Supreme Court judgments which ruled against granting any exemptions in this regard. The bench commented that it cannot interfere in this issue and it is for the university to take a call on this to whether to allow to promote them or detain them.
