Solar power to become cost effective

Jaipur, May 13: India is all set to receive solar power at a very low cost. The Companies are gearing up to give solar power at a price less than compared to Thermal power.Yesterday some power generating companies have participated in the reverse bidding process and submitted tenders to establish a solar park in the Rajasthan.One of the company quoted the price per unit of sun power is RS 2.44 which is the lowest in the history till now". Earlier another company has agreed to supply power at RS 2.66 for people from the plant established at Jaipur.The reasons for reduction in cost of solar power are* Ready availability of land in Solar parks.* Transmission lines are already built in parks.* Improved efficiency of solar panels.Experts say that the price of Solar power may even come down in the future.
