7 held for harassing a minor Girl

Kerala, March 4: Seven persons have been lookout here in kannur, who were involved in an alleged rape case of a 17-year-old girl by a priest, officials said on Saturday.

The suspects comprise a doctor and an administrator of a hospital where the victim gave birth to a baby boy.

According to the police officials, Speaking to the media, Sunil Kumar the investigating officer in the case, said they will arrest all the accused.

"In all there are eight accused and the main suspect is 49-year-old Robin Vadakkanchery, a parish vicar near Kannur. He has already been arrested," said sunil Kumar.

The case surfaced with the arrest of the priest earlier this week who was caught on his way to the Kochi airport to fly out of the country.

The arrest was made following an anonymous call that a 17-year-old schoolgirl gave birth and the Catholic Church authorities in Wayanad are doing their best to cover up the case.
