President will attend to OU centenary celebrations

Hyderabad, February 26: The Osmania University has been received an information from President's office, It stated that,The President Pranab Mukherjee will participate in the Osmania University centenary celebrations on April 26.

Sources in the university said that he would participate for an hour from noon in the celebrations and the President’s Office has asked for details of the celebrations. Senior professors are working on the details to be sent to the President’s Office.



Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao had recently met the President personally to invite him for the celebrations of one of the oldest universities in the country. A team of university officials including Vice Chancellor S. Ramachandram also visited New Delhi to meet senior ministers and officials to extend formal invitation to them.

A few days ago, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan released the brochure of the celebrations bringing the varsity into centenary celebrations mode. The university is making all efforts to ensure the celebrations are memorable involving the alumni across the globe. Series of programmes including talks by Nobel Laureates have been lined up for the year-long celebrations.
