Case on Jabardasth team

Hyderabad, February 18: A Criminal case has filed in High Court against Telegu Cine actors Roja, Naga Babu and others who participated in a TV program Jabardast comedy show in a local Telugu television channel who poked fun at lawyers on Friday.

Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy of Hyderabad High Court has quashed the actors.The judge was dealing with a petition filed against these actors. They challenged the initiation of the criminal case in Huzurabad courts.

Advocate Y. Arun Kumar filed the case complaining the anchors defamed the legal profession by making fun of the lawyers.

The judge said that that the complainant has no locus stand and there is no defamation of profession.

The judge, however, concluded that "till today, no law prohibits such programs through various television channels telecasting such shows. Unless certain guidelines are framed to check telecasting of such programs, by telecasting such programs channel operators would cause further damage to the reputation of judicial institutions."
