Pan-India actor to play King Dushyant in Shaakuntalam!

Popular filmmaker Gunasekhar ambitious mythological magnum opus, Shaakuntalam, is making all the right noises ever since its inception. This epic tale of love recently got a big boost with Samantha stepping in to play the titular role of Shakunthala.

On the other hand, all eyes are on the actor who will be playing King Dushyant in the movie. Apparently, Gunasekhar is planning to rope in either a Malayalam or Tamil hero with a pan-Indian appeal to play the main lead. An official announcement regarding the same will be out soon.

Gunasekhar daughter Neelima Guna is turning producer with Shaakuntalam. Veteran composer Manisharma is composing the film soundtrack. Stay tuned for further updates.
