Mamata Master Plan

Kolkata: West Bengal BJP President and MP Dilip Ghosh said on Sunday that the party is eyeing to add one crore members to West Bengal this year. He said, "Last year we added 42 million members. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the party won 86 lakh votes. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, we got 2.30 crore votes and half of it should be listed as party members."

Dilip Ghosh said at a meeting of party workers in Howrah district that "we will renew the membership of existing members and make more than one crore people members in the state this year." Ghosh urged to reach out to those who did not vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The process of creating a member will begin on July 6.

He said, "The membership in other states can see a 20-30 per cent increase, but West Bengal is different. This is the focus of the entire country on the region. We should double our membership." he said, adding that the party is gaining popularity in the state as activists from other parties are joining the BJP.
