A film on caste discrimination and honour killing

Hyderabad Mar 16: Karuppi, the black dog, a native breed, which played a significant role in the 2018 Maari Selvaraj directed blockbuster film Pariyerum Perumal has been brought as the central character in an upcoming film titled 'Aatha'.

Directed by Jeanskanth, the movie deals with caste discrimination and honour killing. It has newcomers including Ismath Bhanu and Sureslekha.

"The film also speaks about the sacrifice of a single mother towards his son. Like how Karuppi was the soul of PP, here also it is used as a metaphor for caste-based killings. Talks are on with veterans Sathyaraj and Saranya for crucial roles," claims the director. Political personality Mylai Ganesan, stunt master Ayub Khan, Abdul Rahim essay villains.
