Hyderabad: Man slips into open Nala, dies

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, A 24-year-old man was fell into an open Nala died at Kodandaramnagar here on Saturday.

A native of Nellore, Harish was in the city in search of a job and went to visit his friend's home at Saroornagar after a day of vain search for employment. As his friend Rambabu was not at home, Harish apparently went to answer nature's call at an open Nala flowing close to the rented house.

He is suspected to have had an epileptic bout and fell down in the Nala.

Rambabu who returned home and failing to locate Harish after searching around lodged a missing complaint with the police.

Meanwhile, some women who saw Harish having an epileptic bout and falling into the nala also alerted the Saroornagar police in the evening, according to Ranga Swamy, Inspector of Police, Saroornagar.

The police with the help of GHMC workers and personnel from Disaster Management Force immediately took up rescue operations. To assist the effort, a vehicle from Malakpet Fire Station too was summoned.

The GHMC workers started to dig up the Nala pipeline yesterday evening to trace Harish but the operation yielded results only today morning when the body was recovered about 2 km down the Nala where he fell in.

The Saroornagar police had alerted the family of Harish about the mishap and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for the autopsy.

A case relating to death under suspicious circumstances has been registered and being investigated.
