Geetha Govindam touches another milestone

Hyderabad, Aug 26: Tollywood Youth Star Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna starrer 'Geetha Govindam' succeeded in impressing the audience as well as keeping the money-spinners at the box office.

Geetha Govindam is a small budget movie that is made on a shoe-string budget of Rs 5 Cr and finally, it has declared a blockbuster at the box office. Rashmika Mandanna is playing the female lead in Parasuram's directorial venture and it is bankrolled by Bunny Vas under the banner of Geetha Arts 2 whereas presented by Allu Aravind.

Geetha Govindam, which has the music by Gopi Sundar, has become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2018 at the box office.

In overseas, Geetha Govindam has surpassed yet another major milestone. By the end of Saturday night, the film has entered the $ 2M club and emerged as all time 12th highest grosser of Tollywood in overseas. Going by its current trend, Trade circles reckon that it will end as 9th highest grosser in the history.

This is also Vijay Deverakonda’s (as solo lead hero) first $2 million movie. His past two hits in USA were 'Pelli Choopulu' ($1.22 million) and 'Arjun Reddy' ($1.77 million).

Geetha Govindam, which is Vijay’s third blockbuster in overseas and also the career-best surpassing Arjun Reddy’s lifetime collections, is the 5th film of 2018 to hit the prestigious $ 2M mark after Rangasthalam, Bharat Ane Nenu, Agnyathavaasi and Mahanati.

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is planning to take a short break from his busy shoot schedule and planning to fly Europe. After coming back to the city, he will start the works for his upcoming project.
