Kerala, Aug 13: As many as 39 people have lost their lives in flooding and landslides, following heavy and incessant rains in Kerala.Yesterday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had informed that as per the preliminary report, the total damage due to floods in the state is estimated to be worth Rs 8316 crore.Vijayan requested for an additional Rs 400 crore from the Home Ministry to carry out immediate relief and rehabilitation work in the state.The state government had also requested the Centre to declare the calamity a rare severity and provide the required funds and assistance within four weeks.To offer a helping hand to the flood victims, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan appealed to the people of India to generously contribute to the CM Relief Fund. From Tollywood, Vijay Deverakonda and from Kollywood Kamal Hassan, Suriya and Karthi, Vishal, Nadigar Sangam and several other celebrities donated lakhs of rupees for the cause.The die-hard Malayali fans of Stylish Star Allu Arjun are deeply upset with the actor s stoic silence on the natural disaster in their state. Allu Arjun, who is fondly called as Mallu Arjun by his Kerala fans, has not even tweeted about the tragedy in Kerala, let alone offering financial assistance.Finally Allu Arjun Responded to the issue and donates Rs.25 lakhs to Kerala flood Relief funds.and tweeted that "My Heartful Prayers to the Victims who were effected by floods in Kerala. #KeralaFloods #Keralarains"He added," People of Kerala will always occupy a special place in my heart for the unmatchable Love & Affection they shower .
