Transgenders File Case Against TDP MP

Nandyal, Aug 13: Andhra Pradesh Chittoor MP N. Sivaprasad's recent portrayal of a transgender in New Delhi evoked scathing criticism from several groups and prompted them to lodge a complaint with the Nandyal police station in Kurnool district here on Sunday.

According to the details, On Sunday, several transgenders took out a rally in Nandyal and lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that the TDP MP had humiliated them by imitating their style in front of Parliament House.

"He has no business to insult our community by showing us in wrong way. He should tender an unconditional apology or the police should file a case against him for hurting our sentiments and damaging our image," they complained.

P. Vijayakumar, LGBT rights activist and Founder - Advisor of the Bharata Jathiya Samatha Hijra Hakkula Ikya Porata Samithi, told media that Mr. Sivaprasad’s actions were in bad taste and hurt the feelings of the Hijra community.

"Being an MP, he should fight for the rights of the community and contribute towards making legislations in their support. Instead, he chose to ridicule them and deepen the discrimination in society."

TDP MP called the Prime Minister “Modi Baava” in a typical eunuch style and wanted that the state be blessed with the boons as was promised in the past.
