Tamil Actors donates Rs 25 Lakhs

Chennai, Aug 11: Actors from the Tamil Nadu film fraternity have come forward to help those affected by rains in Kerala. Never one to shy away from duty, Suriya along with his brother Karthi donated Rs 25 lakhs to the people of Kerala who have been shattered with heavy rains, floods and landslides.

They have also stated that they offer thier sincerest prayers for the people of kerala to recover from his devastating natural calamity.

The actors donated this hefty amount to Kerala Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund which will be used for the needy. Due to continuous downpour in the state, 29 people died and 54000 people turned homeless.

Indian Army has been taking care of the rescue operations and relief camps have been set up across the state.

Heavy rains have pounded many parts of Kerala over the last few days, severely disrupting the livelihood of its people.
