OMG!, India has 24 lakh Govt Job vacancies

New Delhi, Aug 5: In a shocking news, At least 24 lakh jobs are present with both the Central and State government, as per the data collected from answers to a number questions in Parliament show.

Reportedly, over 10 lakh vacancies for teachers in elementary and secondary schools are present at the moment. This was confirmed during a question answered on February 8 in the Upper House, Rajya Sabha.

As per reports, the maximum number of vacancies which are available for teachers are at the State level or with the Union territory administrations. It must be noted that the vacancies mentioned here are exclusive of those offered under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.

Apart from the number of vacancies mentioned in the Rajya Sabha, a question answered in Lok Sabha on March 27 stated that there were nearly 4.4 lakh vacancies in civil and district armed police. These numbers are as per the record by Bureau of Police Research & Development. Apart from the 4.4 lakh, an additional 90,000-odd positions are available in state armed police. Hence, a total of 5.4 lakh vacancies are present in the armed forces.

Talking about other such vacancies in other fields, a Lok Sabha question stated on July 18 that more than 5,800 vacancies are present in courts. Similarly, over 1.2 lakh vacant positions are there in the defence services and paramilitary forces. A question answered on March 16 this year revealed that there are nearly 2.5 lakh vacant posts among non-gazetted staff in the railways out of which a notification to fill in 89,000 seats have been already announced.

Now coming to Postal Department, over 54,000 vacancies are available in the postal department. Another Rajya Sabha question answered on February 6 showed that there are nearly 1.5 lakh vacancies in these centres.
