Russia gets to decide India's next Prime Minister - Watch

Russia, Aug 04: According to Philip N Howard - a statutory professor of Internet Studies at the University of Oxford, it might happen.

Howard made this observation during a hearing of the US senate intelligence committee on foreign influence on social media platforms in the wake of alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential elections.



According to Howard, Russia could target democratic countries like Brazil and India through their media to interfere with their elections.

The professor claimed the chances of Russia succeeding in India were high as the media here was not as professional as that of the United States which he called the most professionalized media in the world.

Further, Howard expected that the chances of influencing India is high as the media is not as professional as that of US media.
