Bonalu Effect: Bars to be shut down

Hyderabad, Aug 03: Hyderabad Police officers have been ordered to shut down liquor shops on Sunday and Monday, before carefully checking any unwanted events on the occasion of the Bonalu Celebrations throughout the city.

Bars and pubs to shut down on those days, star hotels and registered clubs will be exempt. The Commissioner of Police, Mahesh Bhagwat said that these orders will be implemented from 6 am on Sunday morning till 6 am Tuesday morning.

He warned that there would be stringent action if they had violated the orders. The order will be effective in areas covered by the north and central zone of the Hyderabad police commissioner including Gopalpuram, Mahankali, Begumpet and Chilkalguda.
