Hyderabad, July 29: Telangana's Prestigious Bonalu festivities at the historic Sri Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad started on a colorful note on Sunday.

Carrying 'bonam' with cooked rice laced with jaggery and curd, Kavitha took part in the procession that was taken out from the residence of Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav to the temple amidst drum beats and dance performances by the cultural troupes.

Telangana CM KCR has presented golden Bonam and silk clothes to Secunderabad Ujjaini Mahankali temple today along with family on behalf of TS govt.

Nizamabad MP Kavitha also offered Golden Bonam to Ujjaini Mahankali and stated that all the traditional festivals of Telangana have been identified and celebrated grandly only after Telangana formation as a separate state.

According to reports, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan is going to visit Ujjaini Mahankali Temple shortly and would present Bonam as a part of Bonalu Celebrations.

One of the notable features of the bonalu this time was that the festival was celebrated on the same days as happened 63 years ago.

The major temples of Goddesses Peddamma on RP Road, Renuka Yellamma near YMCA Secunderabad, Nalla Pochamma in Kalasiguda, Muthyalamma at Kummariguda and Gandi Maisamma in Rezimental Bazaar were decked up with colorful LED lights and flowers.
