KTR invited to Global Climate Action Summit

Hyderabad, July 23: Telangana Industries and Information Technology Minister KT. Rama Rao has received an invitation to attend yet another International Conference.

Minister KTR has been invited to address the Global Climate Action Summit to be held at San Francisco from September 12 to 14.

California government's Edmund G. Brown has extended the invitation to Mr. Rama Rao asking him to address the participants on the topic "future of energy and transport systems".

The topic had been selected in the light of initiatives launched by different governments for tackling climate change.

In a letter addressed to Mr. Rama Rao, Mr. Brown wanted the Minister to explain the measures like Harita Haram launched by the government on promoting the green cover as also the steps proposed in future to address issues arising out of climate change.

The summit had been convened as part of measures to spread awareness among the people on climate change and it would try to sensitize the governments and policymakers on the issue.

The summit was expected to be attended by representatives from different countries around the world along with researchers who are studying the impact of the climate change, according to an official release.
