Kerala MLA broke toll plaza barrier, Video goes viral

Kerala, July 18: In a Vandalizing incident, Kerala MLA P.C. George broke a stop barrier at a toll plaza in Thrissur here on Tuesday night.

MLA P.C. George was apparently provoked after the employees of Paliyekkara toll plaza asked him to pay the required toll. George was elected from Poonjar assembly constituency as an independent in the 2016 assembly election and is a six-time legislator from central Kerala.

George told the media, that he stepped out of the car as there was a delay in collecting the fee, causing a traffic block. CCTV footage showed George and his aides coming out of the car and vandalizing a barricade.

They left the spot after that. The toll counter was being handled by staff from other states. The video has gone viral on social media.

George said he does not regret the incident as he was not allowed to go despite his car having a name board saying 'MLA'. George was on his way to Kochi from Thrissur in a luxury car. The toll plaza staff have filed a complaint at the Puthukad police station.

George is not new to controversies. His brazen comments targeting several people had hogged headlines earlier. A video of George throwing up abusive words at the staff of an electricity office had gone viral a few years ago.
