Teenager boy kills his friend for smartphone

Hyderabad, Jul 17: In a tragic incident, a teenager has been arrested in Hyderabad on Monday for murdering and burning the body of his friend from the neighborhood allegedly for his smartphone.

According to the police, the 19-year-old youngster, identified as G Prem Sagar took the deceased D Prem from Uppal to an isolated place in Adibatla and attacked him with a stick before setting him ablaze.

Sagar poured petrol on the minor who fell unconscious from the attack and set him ablaze killing him on the spot.

A missing case was registered based on a complaint filed by Prem's family on July 14. During the investigation, the police questioned Sagar who admitted to killing Prem after the latter refused to give him the smartphone.

Police filed a case against the accused under Sections 302, 364 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and he has been sent to the judicial remand.
