Bathukamma will be the most important!!

Hyderabad, July 15: Last year, for Bathukamma festival, Telangana CM KCR came out with a plan to entreat the women voters. Excited by Jayalalitha's 'Amma Sarees' in Tamil Nadu, he launched a free saree drive for women from the poorer sections of society.

The activity had turned into a complete parody. At bare note, almost half the sarees were gathered from Surat in Gujarat and only half from the power looms of Telangana.

As TRS leaders started distributing the sarees, a disturbance broke out in some areas. At an event in Hyderabad's Saidabad, women waiting in a long queue were spotted lashing each other and pulling at each other's hair and policewomen, however, tried to control the scene.

Somewhere, groups of women were seen burning the sarees, citing that they were of poor quality and far from the promised handloom. And the videos went viral of women dancing around a wildfire to songs unkinding Chief Minister KCR.

"Will his daughter Kavitha dance Bathukamma wearing such a saree?" questioned one livid woman. More than 1 crore sarees were ordered at a cost of Rs. 222 crore.

This year, all the sarees are being made in Telangana. But the TRS government is panicky because the stock is supposed to be delivered by the end of September for delivery during Bathukamma in October.

Contrary to the target of 1 crore sarees, only 25 lakh has been made ready. Another 75 lakh needs to be ready in the next 3 months.

All the sarees are being made in Sircilla where there is a subtle shortage of weavers. If the government doesn't get its act right, the saree could easily flare hefty unrest among womenfolk and provide generous hay to the Opposition with elections around the corner.

Believe it (or) not? This is one important Bathukamma for TRS!!

Will there be an equivalence between 'QUALITY & QUANTITY'?

Will the women be pleased for 'Bathukamma' sarees and bless KCR, 'Sallanga Bathukayya'?
