Vijayawada: RTI activist arrested for making this!!

Vijayawada, July 13: Reporter and RTI activist N. Nagarjuna Reddy was arrested by the CID police's cyber appendage on Thursday on a complaint about his postings on social media.

Mr Reddy was beaten up by the brother of Chirala MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan last year. The complainant is Prem Kajal, who was DSP Chirala at the time of that incident.

Mr. Reddy criticised her for not filing the case relating to the MLA's brother who beat him up. He assertedly used abusive language in his posts relating to Prem Kajal, who was transferred 10 days ago.

After receiving the complaint from the police officer, Inspector N. Naga Malleswara Rao of the CID's cyber wing had arrested Nagarjuna Reddy at Vetapalem village on Thursday at 6 am and produced him before second additional Judicial First Class Magistrate, Ongole.

A case has been registered against him under section 67 of the IT Act 2000, and sections 353, 354, 500, 506, 509 of the Indian Penal Code.
