'Sanju' beats Dhoom 3 Collections

Mumbai, July 12: Bollywood Hero Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju refuses to slow down at the box office. The film has now taken over Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 at the box office in just 13 days of its release.

Sanju is now the 7th highest Bollywood grosser of all time. The next milestone for the film to reach is Rs 300 crore figure. Which it is most likely to go past by its third Saturday. It can be its second Friday as well depends on how well it sustains once Soorma and Ant-Man and the Wasp release.

Sanju made Rs 6.90 crore on its day 13, taking its 13-day total to Rs 289.40 crore at the box office. Dhoom 3, which is Aamir Khan's third biggest hit had made Rs 284.27 crore by the end of its lifetime run in 2013. At that time, Dhoom 3 was the biggest box office grosser. Sanju will now be eyeing Rs 300 crore club and the lifetime business of Sultan and Padmaavat, which it'll comfortably cross.

Sanju will see some competition for the first time since its release, in Diljit Dosanjh's Soorma and Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp.

According to film trade analyst Girish Johar, Soorma is expected to go make a decent Rs 2.5 crore at the box office on its opening day. Going by the trend, it's likely that Sanju might come out as the top performing film third week in a row.
