Vizag, July 10: Telangana Hyderabad is care of address for Biryani. All the people from across the world loves this Hyderabadi chicken.

Bawarchi Biryani is famous in Hyderabad. Now in order to promote thier favorite foods, the Andhra Pradesh Govt is soon to introduce Bamboo Biryani in thier state.

To get flavourful biryani, mouth of the bamboo tube is closed with green leaves to block the steam which helps the ingredients inside get properly cooked.

Food festivals across the 13 districts to showcase the traditional Andhra dishes and culinary competitions in major cities are also being planned to achieve the goal. The Department is also trying to get GI tag for three traditional dishes- Putharekulu, Kakinada kaja and ulavacharu.

Tourism officials are also intend to attempt the longest puthareku to find a place in the India Book of Records.

Mainly tourists and picnic lovers are being attracted for this delicacy at Kalingapatnam beach. Sensing a huge demand, some local fishermen underwent training in preparation of this bamboo chicken in Paderu and Araku Agency areas in Visakhapatnam district and started their outlets here.

Bamboo chicken is prepared by marinating raw chicken with some spices, salt and chilli powder. The chicken stuffed into bamboo stalks as different pieces and cooked it on firewood.

In this process, no oil and water added to chicken and it was boiled by absorbing moisture from bamboo stalk, giving a delicious taste to chicken. The dish served fresh soon after preparation and it is suggestible to consume immediately.

Each piece of bamboo stalk can only be used once to prepare the chicken. Bamboo chicken selling is becoming a profitable business as cost of per kg raw chicken is Rs 160 and after preparing as bongu chicken, it costs about Rs 350, which means more than 100 per cent profits are possible due to huge demand from tourists and picnic lovers for this delicacy

AP government announced that Bamboo Biryani as the state brand. The AP Tourism Department, which has decided to bring this type of biryani into the food, has also prepared an annual plan.

The official said that The People are witnessing the Bamboo Biryani Bamboo chicken in Vizag and as well as Araku, in order to spread this delicious food t entire state and country they are going to train the chefs.

At the same time, the tourism department also decided to organize a special festival to serve at least two hotels every week for Andhra traditional cuisine. Officials also believe that geographical identification should be achieved as soon as possible.
