Kohli Creates Record

New Delhi, July 04: Indian skipper Virat Kohli created a new world record during the first T20I of the three-match series against England at the Old Trafford, Manchester.

He became the fastest batsman to reach 2000 runs in T20Is. Kohli took just 56 innings to surpass former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum's record of 66 innings.

The 29-year-old achieved the feat in his 56th innings.

Interestingly, he had also been the fastest to 1,000 T20I runs (27 innings).

Kohli scored an unbeaten 20 and hit a single six in his innings.

Kohli now has 2012 runs, as he became the 4th batsman to reach the 2000-run mark.
