Public response on KCR KIT

Hyderabad, July 04: It is known that KCR Kit is a welfare program for mother and child launched by the Government of Telangana. In which the program aims to provide "Financial and Medical Assistance" to women undergoing delivery of the child at any government hospital in the state.

The scheme focus to reduce the 'Infant death rate' and 'Maternal temporality rate' which currently stands at 28/1000 deaths and 65/1 Lakh deaths deliveries jointly.

With an aim to enhance the health of newborn baby and mother, the scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of Telangana - KCR, which maintained Rs. 605 crores in 2017 budget.

# KCR Kit description:

The mother beginning with delivery is allocated with a KCR Kit consisting of 16 items items necessary to keep newborn babies warm and hygienic which are sufficient for 3 months. The items include clothes, quality baby soaps, baby oil, baby powder, mosquito nets, toys, napkins, and diapers.

# Financial assistance:

The mother will also be provided with financial assistance of Rs. 12,000 (Rs. 13,000 for a girl child) to reimburse for the loss of work by the women during the pregnancy and postnatal.

# Eligibility:

The scheme is eligible for women who give birth at government hospitals, for a maximum of two deliveries.

@Public response:

~ The women from several areas of the state have been expressing their delight over the 'KCR KIT' for encouraging the women towards the government programs.

~ This particularly helped the women of weaker sections and after a cold response from the patients, many women are now stepping forward to Govt hospitals in which they are motivated by Social women activists.
