Telangana Bonalu starts from July

Hyderabad, Jul 03: As we know that, Bonalu is an annual festival of Telangana celebrated in twin cities Hyderabad, Secunderabad and other parts of Telangana. It is celebrated in the month of Ashada Masam, in July/August.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday instructed the officials concerned to release Rs. 15 Crore for organizing Bonalu Festival.

The Chief Minister desired that the festival should be organised as a state festival, and elaborate arrangements should be made for its conduct.

He also asked the Home Minister Naini Narsimha Reddy to convene a meeting with people's representatives of twin cities and concerned officials and coordinate the festival arrangements.

The Bonalu celebrations are begins on 15th of this month with Golconda Goddess Bonam.

Special poojas are performed for Yellamma on the first and last day of the festival. The festival is also considered a thanksgiving to the Goddess for the fulfillment of vows.

In Delhi, The Lal Darwaza Simha Vahini temple committee will be offering huge bonams on 16, 17,18th of this month. On July 22, The huge amount of bonams will be offered at Kanaka durga temple in Vijayawada.

This time, Vijayawada Shri Kanaka Durgamma will get Bonam in a golden bowl and be praying to give the special status of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

On July 20th, The Bonam will offer at Peddamma temple. On July 29th, the bonam will be offered at Ujjain Mahankali in Secunderabad.
