Telangana: Districts to be reduced to 17

Hyderabad, June 25: Telangana government received a huge jolt as Union Home ministry approved only 17 out of 31 districts.

Earlier, It is known news that 21 New districts were created on 11 October 2016. Earlier there were only 10 districts in Telangana and with these 21, it became total of 31 districts in Telangana.

However, now Union ministry approved only 17 of these 31 districts and requested the state government to come up with the report of which districts are to be merged to make it 17 from 31.

Below is the list of 10 districts before 2016, 31 districts after October 2016, and the proposed 17 districts.

It is to be noted here that, total number of parliament constituencies also 17, though list of MP constituencies and list of proposed 17 districts are not similar.

17 Districts Approved By Union Home Ministry:

1) Adilabad, 2) Hyderabad, 3) Karimnagar, 4) Khammam, 5) Nalgonda, 6) Nizamabad, 7) Medak, 8) Mahabubnagar, 9) Ranga Reddy, 10) Warangal, 11) Mancherial, 12) Siddipet, 13) Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, 14) Jayashankar Bhupalapally, 15) Bhadradri Kothagudem, 16) Kamareddy, 17) Nagarkurnool
