Parliament Monsoon Session to begin

New Delhi, June 25: The monsoon session of Parliament will starts from 18 July and end on 10 August, the Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs said here on today.

In this regard, The Cabinet Committee of Parliamentary Affairs, chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, met in New Delhi on 25 June to recommend the dates. The President will now formally convene the session.

The session will have nearly 18 sittings, Parliamentary Affairs minister Ananth Kumar told reporters in the Capital.

In the monsoon session of Parliament, the government plans to pass the Constitution (123rd) Amendment Bill, 2017 that seeks to accord constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC).

Kumar informed that other important Bills including the Triple Talaq bill, Transgender Bill will be among others which will be tabled in the Parliament during the monsoon session. The government expects constructive cooperation from all political parties for a productive session.
