Kolkata, June 25: In a shocking incident, A couple faced harassment on board the Kolkata Metro

While travelling in the local train from Kolkata's Sealdah station to Barrakpore on Saturday a group of men screeched over a young couple.

A 28-year-old man who works at an MNC entered the Kolkata metro with his 24-year-old friend. The couple had boarded Kishananagar local train from the busy Sealdah station around 9 pm at the night. While traveling in the train, the couple had requested a middle-aged man to shift a bit so that the couple could sit together beside each other. But the man in question bluntly and rudely refused.

He said that he won't move as the cooling from the fan in the train would not reach him. The couple then somehow sat in a narrow space next to the man. There was a small tussle but things were in control at the moment.

The situation deteriorated when more passengers boarded the train in the next station. The man then started misbehaving and yelling over the couple. He asked the 24-year-old girl to board a woman's compartment. Not only this, the woman claimed that the passengers also questioned the dress she was wearing. She was wearing jeans over which they objected.

The woman video graphed the entire ordeal on her mobile phone and shared it on the social media. The couple also filed a complaint with the Railway Police. The young girl recounted her ordeal in a Facebook post. She asked whether women are always meant to hear such things. She further said that this is a daily routine on buses and trains and asked if this is the behaviour to be expected from our older generation.
